Josh Summers | Bible Memory Goal

a surprise guest interview

Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], I remember the first time I watched a pastor stand up on stage and instead of preaching a sermon, he recited Romans chapters one through eight, word for word.

The whole thing was simply captivating!

So when I got an email a couple months back from David Platt himself-- a best-selling author, former president of the IMB, and current pastor -- I was surprised to say the least.

"Sure...I'd love to join you on your podcast to talk about Bible memory!" he said.

The result was just a conversation that was just as encouraging and thought-provoking as I hoped it would be.

This week I'm excited to share the full interview with David Platt where he shares his view of Scripture memorization, the moment he felt God speak to him recently, and why he believes pastors are a key piece of getting more Christians to internalize Scripture.

But first I want to give you this encouragement:

Don't let this Christmas season run away from you!

I know everything is busy. It always is. That's why you have to be intentional about slowing down, settling into a season of advent and prioritizing what you value most.

Everything around us may be chaos, but as our verse for this week reminds us, Jesus remains the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen!

Be sure to read through the entire email...you don't want to miss what I've got at the end :)

Book Giveaway Pt. 2

Two weeks ago we had 10 people on this email list win a copy of Faith's new book...now we're going to do the same for David's book!

As a reward for reading this far in the email (good job!), you can be part of the drawing for 10 copies of David's book How to Read the Bible. All you have to do is reply to this email answering this question:

What is your favorite family Christmas tradition?

Here's the last thing I'll say: we've already had a lot of people purchase tickets to next year's Scripture Sync event and I really want you to come. Early bird tickets are available from now until the end of the year, so put them on your Christmas list if you need to.

If you have any questions about that, just let me know!

God bless,
