back in Dallas!

Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], I'm sitting in a Starbucks as I write this email, drinking coffee to help me stay awake while fighting some major jet lag. Ha. That's what happens when you fly 20+ hours across the world from Asia to the US.

I'm happy to report, however, that we've survived all of the flights and have safely arrived in Dallas!

I'm looking forward to attending our home church this weekend and hugging friends we haven't seen in years.

I'm also working incredibly hard finalizing all of the details of Scripture Sync that's kicking off in a couple weeks. I can't wait for hundreds of amazing people to come together soon to hang out and geek out over the memorization of God's Word.

Part of what we're preparing to launch during Scripture Sync are a couple of fun projects that have been in the works for over a year. These include:

  • a new Bible memory book I'm publishing with Dr. Larry Dinkins;
  • a church program we're bringing out of beta;
  • an online community upgrade;

If you're interested to join us in-person or virtually for this fun event, there are still some tickets available. Otherwise, stay tuned for announcements of these new projects coming later this summer.

How has the start of your summer been? Have you been able to carve out time to memorize and meditate on God's Word so far? Shoot a reply to this email to let me know what you're working on.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.

— Philippians 2:14-15 (NIV)

What's Happening in the Community

How Often Should You Review?

Hannah asked a question that almost everyone wrestles with eventually:

How do you actually build a review calendar… and how often should you revisit passages to keep them strong?

This sparked a really helpful discussion on spacing reviews, avoiding overwhelm, and finding a rhythm that works long-term.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about what to review and when, you’ll definitely want to read through this one.

Bible Memory in Real Life

One of the sweetest parts of this community is seeing how God is using His Word in people’s actual lives.

The Reflections & Applications space is where members share what God is teaching them through the verses they’re memorizing — not just what they’ve memorized, but how Scripture is shaping their hearts, thoughts, and daily lives.

If you haven’t visited that space lately, take a few minutes to read through the reflections… and consider sharing one of your own.

How has God been revealing Himself to you through His Word lately?

Wow, What a Week!

We recently wrapped up our 7-Day Challenge, and it was so encouraging to see everyone pulling together for a focused “sprint week” of Scripture memory. Every check-in, encouragement, review session, and small victory mattered.

Some members hit their goals; others are still pressing toward the finish line and that’s okay. Progress was made all across this community, and that is worth celebrating.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and encouraged others along the way.

And good news… the next challenge is already coming: July 20–26

Who’s planning to join us next time?

Church in every Village

One of our sponsors for Scripture Sync this year is an amazing ministry called The Timothy Initiative, whose vision is to see a church planted in every village. How cool is that? I encourage you to check out their website to learn more about the ministry and how you can get involved.

If you have a moment, please reply to this email and let me know what passage of the Bible you're memorizing or meditating on this summer. I'd love to hear it!

I hope to see you in Dallas (or virtually) in a couple weeks!
