Esther PDF, an interview + an announcement!
Published 3 months agoย โขย 2 min read
Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], this week is going to be a quick email update, with two big things to share and a new video interview you're going to love.
First, if you missed the livestream with Larry Dinkins, it was a great training session going through all 10 chapters of Esther in less than 20 minutes. Even if you already know the story of Esther, this memory map is going to be such a useful tool! (link to the free PDF download below).
But there was something else we announced publicly during the livestream...
...we officially locked down the dates for Scripture Sync 2026!
Our time together this last summer was special, and if you value the practice of Scripture memorization, this event will put you in a room with so many like-minded people.
For the next event, we're going to be in Dallas again on June 19-20, 2026. Tickets aren't available yet, but I'm telling you now just so you can pencil it in on your calendar and make sure not to miss it. I'm going to be there again and this time, I'll be bringing my whole family with me (meet my wife and two boys!).
More details to come later. This year was incredible, but we're going to take what we learned to make next year's Scripture Sync even better.
๐ฃ Using a "Memory Map" for Esther
During the 20-min YouTube livestream, Larry and Josh explained how to use the memory map and gave a brief explanation of each chapter. We encourage you to use this resource with your small group or Sunday school class, so we have the maps and images available for immediate free download here:
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
A pastor in our community asked for some ideas for getting his congregation interested in memorizing Scripture. There were some great answers from our members that you can read, or you can add your own two cents. Check it out here! โ
Carly asked the community for some suggestions on websites, books or video series that focused on an expository approach to Bible study. Check out the recommendations!โ
We all have days when we forget, and Lee offered some encouraging words when he forgot an entire chapter he memorized (which ironically starts with the words "Be patient..." Ha!). If you think you're the only one who forgets what they memorize, you should read this short exhortation from Lee. Read it here.โ
New Video Interview!
This week Josh sits down with Paul Childers, a global mission leader and founder of Word by Heart. His unique take on memorization, summarized in the phrase "The truth is in the whole!" will encourage you this week as you spend time in God's Word.
That's all for this week. As I write this, I'm saying a short prayer for you. My hope is that these emails continue to be an encouragement and inspiration for you to keep pursuing God through His Word.
