I'm honestly just...tired

Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], I think there's a good reason why the Bible tends to use the metaphor of athletes and sports to help us understand life. There are so many parallels that make a lot of sense.

One of my favorite sentences that Paul ever wrote in the Bible comes in his second letter to Timothy, considered one of the final letters he ever wrote. He says this:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. - 2 Timothy 4:7

Notice that Paul doesn't say he won the race. He finished it, and he did so having fought well and keeping the faith (important!).

As we come to the end of the year, it always feels like there's so much left to do before it ends: parties to prepare for, things we need to buy, friends and family we need to visit.

I'm honestly just tired. I'm sure you are as well? But I've determined that I want to finish well.

It's easy to set goals and habits at the beginning of the year. But what you do finish the year is what actually matters.

This week, I have a very short (3 minutes!) video and podcast episode explaining the simple but scary step I'm taking to finish strong.

And I invite you to find your own version of this as well!

📣 how are you going to Finish Strong?

This is the part of our annual Bible memory journey that gets hard. Life is busy. We're all tired. Please take 3 minutes to watch or listen to how I'm going to approach this (and what you can do as well).

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHT

What's Happening in our Community

Where Do I Start?

Eva shared a question many of us remember asking when we first got serious about Bible memory: With so many great options—full books, outlines, chapter “anchor” verses, and verses that jump out during daily reading—how do you choose what to focus on? She loves the possibilities but wants to invest her time wisely without feeling overwhelmed. How do you decide what to memorize next? Share your thoughts here.

When Reading and Reciting Collide

Manuela shared that when her church assigned her Hebrews and Titus for a New Testament read-through, she found something unexpected happening: as she tried to read Hebrews, her brain automatically began to recite the memorized text. It felt like her mind was doing two tasks at once, making it difficult to slow down and meditate on each verse. For now, she’s switching to a different translation to break the recitation reflex. Have you ever experienced this? How do you read a book you’ve memorized without slipping into recitation mode? Join the discussion here.

Need Encouragement?

One of the most encouraging spaces in our community is Share Your Wins! Here, members celebrate milestones—like finishing a chapter, nailing a tough verse, or even just sticking with a new routine. Many share video recitations, which not only build confidence but also inspire others to press on in their own memory journeys. Check it out here and be inspired today!
