there's really no point

Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], so I've been waking up at 2am for the last few days. Seriously. I'm not usually a morning person, but I literally cannot sleep longer than that. No, I'm not sick or stressed or anything like that.
The truth is...I'm jet-lagged :)
Earlier this week my family and I boarded a plane in the US and 20+ hours later we arrived at home in Thailand. Our body clock is off by 12 hours, so what is night feels like day and what is day feels like night.
And you know, there's actually something quite nice about being up at 2am and knowing that there is literally nothing you can be doing. You can meet people; you can't go to the grocery story or head to a coffee shop.
This morning I sat with my boys and we read through a few chapters of the Bible together. Later, I decided to rewatch one of my favorite talks at Scripture Sync 2026 by my friend Jonathan Bradford. The opening to his talk was memorable:
To start on the topic of things I've learned in memorizing the New Testament, one of the things I learned is: if you memorize and are unwilling to put it into practice, there's really no point to memorizing it.
The point isn't memory. It's transformation.
As Romans 12 says, we are seeking to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. I know this isn't mind-blowing information to you, but I think sometimes we need a good reminder.
Or maybe just I do?
