update on the Psalms Project
Published 3 months agoย โขย 2 min read
Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], last weekend we launched the Psalms Project with our community Patrons and so far it's been incredible! In less than a couple hours, we had all 150 chapters claimed for memorization.
Now it's time to memorize!
We had 64 Patrons participating as of Monday but that number is up to 77 as I write this. You're still welcome to join us if you want to take part! Learn more about becoming a Patron.
Even if you aren't a part of the Psalms Project, I encourage you to take some time this month to memorize one of the psalms. Yes, you might be in the middle of memorizing something else, but it can even be a short psalm.
Then, on the first Saturday in October, you can celebrate with us during the Psalms Project livestream where the entire book of Psalms will be recited by memory from our Patrons.
I can't wait to see how that goes.
In the meantime, we have some updates to share with you from the community as well as an opportunity for you to memorize the outline of Esther in a couple weeks.
First, this week's verse:
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."
Paul shared a unique strategy for tackling tough verses: he works on them right before bed. Instead of forcing word-perfect recall at night, he simply reads the verse, repeats it, and lets it โsettle inโ as he sleeps. Then, first thing in the morning, he reviews it again and often finds the verse much easier to recall. Have you ever tried memorizing this way? Do you notice a difference when you review Scripture at night versus in the morning? Share your thoughts here.โ
Phil shared his excitement about a classic Bible memory website making a comeback! Memverse is live and running strong again, with features like Church, Group, State, and Country leaderboards, community forums, reference quizzes, accuracy tests, and even live quizzes twice a week. Itโs a fun and engaging way to encourage one another and grow in memorizing Godโs Word. Check out his post here which includes the link to Memverse!!
One of the most encouraging spaces in our community is Share Your Wins! Here, members celebrate milestone such as finishing a chapter, nailing a tough verse, or even just sticking with a new routine. Many share video recitations, which not only build confidence but also inspire others to press on in their own memory journeys. Take a moment to scroll through, listen, and maybe even post your own win. You never know who might be encouraged by your story!
Memorize Esther!
On Tuesday evening, September 16th, Josh is doing a livestream with Dr. Larry Dinkins on YouTube to walk through a memory map of Esther. They're going to show a fun, visual way to help you memorize the outline of all 10 chapters of Esther! Click the link below to find out what time it starts in your time zone and to set a notification in YouTube.
Our goal is to continue to continually encourage you to memorize more of God's Word - whether a single psalm or the outline of Esther.
We're always open to feedback, though. If you have a moment, please reply to this email to let me know what has been most helpful to you and what you wish we would do more of.
