Josh Summers | Bible Memory Goal

an under-rated part of memory

Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], this week our community Patrons had the distinct privilege of hearing something that most people don't get the chance to hear:

Psalm 24 recited in the Kikuyu language.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was simply beautiful! I love listening to Scripture recited in various languages from around the world. It's a wonderful reminder that we serve a God who is not bound by national boundaries or linguistic differences.

We listened to this as part of our new "Recite Together" sessions where we had 30 people sharing what they had memorized.

We broke out into various small groups (you can see my small group above) and we all had a chance to recite verses or chapters that we had memorized.

Honestly, I don't think we spend enough time in the practice of reciting Scripture out loud. We may read it, memorize it or study it, but how often do you recite it?

This is yet another reason to join our Patron community! We're working on memorizing Luke together and along the way, we're using these monthly Recite Together sessions as practice. :)

Wouldn't it be fun to have a group of people who are as passionate as you are about memorizing God's Word?

πŸ“£ 5 Ways to do ORAL Review Easily

Maybe you can't join us in our Recite Together sessions, but did you know that there are multiple ways that you can incorporate "oral review" into your Bible memorization time? Here are some ideas:

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHT

What's Happening in our Community

A Colorful Twist on Scripture Memory

Melanie shared a fun idea this week after hitting a snag with one of the 52 Verses in 2026. She used ChatGPT to create a coloring page for the verse and found that slowing down to color helped the words sink in. It’s a great option for kids and adults who enjoy a creative approach, and she even shared the coloring page for next week’s verse for anyone who wants to try it! Check it out here.

A Successful Memory Challenge!

Last week, we had 84 challengers, from 8 countries memorizing and reviewing 2,860 verses. Here is what one community member said about the challenge, "The initiation is the hardest part for me, so having the daily reminders and check ins was encouraging. This challenge also helped me in creating a better/more effective daily review strategy." Access amazing accountability and encouragement by joining our next 7-Day Challenge, March 9-13!

Scripture Sync!

Hotels rooms are already getting booked up and our leadership team met to plan all the exciting new things we're doing for Scripture Sync this year. The only thing missing is YOU. Be sure to grab your ticket before the pricing goes up next month.

For those who were in the middle of the winter storm this last week, I hope you were able to stay warm and plenty entertained while being stuck inside!

Have a blessed weekend,
