why don't churches do this?

Hey [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], I have some good friends who are full-time church ministers. They're pastors, worship leaders, and children's church leaders. They wear so many different hats throughout the week and they're a good reminder to me:

We need to be more thankful for our local church staff!

Believe it or not, it can be a hard and stressful job. You can never please everybody and pastors often carry the burden of all the struggles they witness in their congregation.

If you get nothing else out of this email, please take a few minutes to pray for your church pastor. They have a lot on their plate.

This week, we're talking a bit about the Sunday church service, and I want you to hear me clearly: the point is not to add more to a pastor's plate.

In fact, what we'd like to do is to encourage YOU to step into a role that takes responsibility and inspires others in the church body to commit God's Word to memory.

How can you do that?

It's an idea called a "recitation team" and I sat down with Tom Griffins, founder of the By Heart ministry, to hear his "Case for Recitation" as he calls it. Trust me - he makes a strong case!

๐Ÿ“ฃ Why Your Church NEEDS a "Recitation Team"

Your church has a worship team and a prayer team...but what about a "recitation team"? Join Josh and Tom Griffins, founder of the By Heart Ministry, to explore the art and the power of Scripture recitation in the modern church.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Prepare for Fall!

The weather is getting cooler and the leaves have changed color. It's a great time to check out the hoodies we have available in our Bible memory store! My favorite is the one that says "Know the Word, memorize the words". :)

Don't forget to pray for your local pastors this week! Maybe even write them a short note to let them know you appreciate them.

Have a great weekend!
